Finally! It’s pancake day. Forget calorie counting and enjoy tucking into some delicious crêpes or fluffy pancakes.
We’re sure you have your pancake recipes down to a T and we don’t need to tell you how to make them, although a mastered skill, it is one most of us possess but if you are bored of the traditional lemon and sugar topping or if you fancy creating a pancake buffet then this blog is one for you.
We have put together some of our most loved pancake topping recipes that you and the kids will love. These are simple to make, with ingredients that you may already have and if you don’t they are easily sourced at your local supermarket.
RASPBERRY COMPOTE TOPPING
Serves 4/6 people
Ingredients:
One punnet of raspberries or 200g frozen raspberries (this can be substituted for any summer berry of your choosing)
A splash of fresh orange juice
2 tablespoons of water
2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
Method:
Put all ingredients into a pan, slowly bring to boil, stir occasionally
Allow to cool before putting into your favourite serving dish
BISCOFF TOPPING
Serves 4/6 people
Ingredients:
Half a jar of Biscoff spread
A splash of your preferred milk
Biscoff biscuits to serve
Method:
Put all ingredients into a pan, slowly heat, stir occasionally
Add more milk until it is at your desired consistency
Pour into a serving dish of your choosing next to some Biscoff biscuit crumbs for added optional crunch
VEGAN LUXURY YOGHURT TOPPING
Ingredients can be substituted for dairy alternatives too!
Serves 4/6 people
Ingredients:
Dark Chocolate
Coconut based yoghurt
Agave Syrup
Strawberries
Method:
Grate or cut into small chunks the dark chocolate
Put the dark chocolate, yoghurt and agave syrup into a bowl and mix all together (add the agave syrup to taste)
Wash and cut up the strawberries into small pieces
Place the yoghurt mixture into a serving dish of your choice and place the freshly cut strawberries on top
